On November 10th, we performed at Parkvilla in Alphen aan den Rijn. It was an outstanding performance. We played in a cinema-like setting, with a video screen behind us showcasing our film, accompanied by our own music. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the audience was very enthusiastic. It was a successful evening. Below is a live recording of “Stone in My Heart,” a song we played that night, recorded by Hans Korbee.
We would like to thank everyone who supported us in 2022. Be it by participating in our crowdfunding campaign, buying our music, writing great reviews or just letting them know how much they enjoy our new album Ruins. The 4th of may is Remembrance Day in the Netherlands. To honour those who have fallen for our freedom, we made a video for the song Line in the Sand. This song was written two years ago, and is about war and all the madness that comes with it. Asking ourselves ‘who’s to decide, who lives and who dies, and who draws the line in the sand’. Sadly, the song is even more actual today than when it was written, with war raging once again in Europe. Lest we forget…

The genre of Prog Rock seems to be the exclusive playing ground of Steven Wilson (and his various bands) and bands that are signed on the Kscope recording label, such as Pineapple Thief and Anathema. Yet, in the Netherlands a number of bands adhere to this genre as well, such as Downriver Dead Men Go. Their album Tides is a collection of stunning melodies that, if you would like to make a comparison, comes close to Nosound (one of Steven Wilson’s pet projects). Languid, with sometimes an acceleration, dreamy, and highbrowed in the positive sense of the word. A musical fulcrum that is carefully structured and worked out. In particular, the moving Never Change, with minimalistic piano melodies, brings out the best of the band. Downriver Dead Men Go restates the Netherlands as an important prog rock country.
